The key objective of the Growing American Farmers and Ranchers® AgriVisions® Emerging Farmer and Rancher Program is to educate and provide leadership to expand the opportunities available in agriculture.
As a participant, you will:
• Expand your knowledge of the Ag industry
• Expand your knowledge of capital, break evens, marketing, and aspects of financing
• Grow a stronger appreciation and understanding of the resources in Agriculture
• Enhance your self-confidence, personal development, responsibility and leadership skills
• Appreciate the need to be a life-long learner in Agriculture
• Network with other farmers, ranchers, and industry leaders around the area

It is expected you will actively participate in all meetings and activities with:
• An open and inquiring mind
• A willingness to learn
• A respect for opinions not in agreement with your own
• A commitment to greater service for the betterment of agriculture in your community and state
The time commitment involved is seven days during 2025. We do want you to be involved and want you to realize missed sessions affect the other attendees as well as presenters. It is realized you have responsibilities to your families, professions and organizations, and sometimes conflicts occur and are unavoidable. First Dakota would like to be notified no later than five days before a session if you will not be present.

Mitchell - Recordkeeping, financial reporting, enterprise analysis, and financial based management decision making
Overnight session - one full day and one half day
June 2025
Brookings - Marketing (tools and plans) and family business management and transition
Overnight session - one full day and one half day
Late July or early August 2025
Field Experience - Premier ag related tours
Overnight session - two full days and one half day
Late November or early December 2025
Sioux Falls - Economic outlook, leadership and strategic planning
Overnight session - one full day and one half day
