SMS and Text Messaging

First Dakota may use text messaging to communicate with customers and consumers about account servicing, requested customer support, security or fraud alerts, transaction information, and, when separately authorized, products or services that may be of interest.

When you share your mobile phone number or otherwise consent to receive text messages, we may collect your mobile phone number, messaging preferences, consent and opt-out records, message content, and information relating to the delivery of and response to messages. Certain account servicing, fraud prevention, security, and transactional communications may be provided as part of the services you request. Marketing and promotional text messages, where applicable, are subject to separate consent and preference management processes.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. All other categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We may disclose this information to service providers that assist us in delivering, administering, securing, monitoring, or retaining our text messages, subject to contractual confidentiality and security requirements, or when disclosure is otherwise required or permitted by law.

Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of opening an account, obtaining a product or service, or maintaining a banking relationship with us. Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply.

You may withdraw consent to receive text messages at any time by replying STOP when that option is available, by contacting us using the information in the Contact Us section, or any other reasonable method. We will process opt-out requests as required by applicable law. We may send one non-marketing text confirming that your request has been processed.

Opting out of text messages does not prevent First Dakota from communicating with you through other lawful methods. Certain security or service alerts may be managed separately through your digital banking settings.

Standard SMS text messages are not a secure communication channel. Do not send passwords, access codes, full account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other sensitive information by text. When sensitive information is needed, we may direct you to a secure channel, such as authenticated digital banking or another approved method.

Depending on the technology and configuration used, this information may be aggregated or associated with a pseudonymous browser, device, application, or session identifier.

We may use third-party analytics services, including Google Analytics. These providers may collect and process information about your use of our services in accordance with their privacy practices. For information about how Google uses information collected through sites or applications that use its services, visit the Google Privacy & Terms website. Where applicable, you may also manage Google advertising preferences through Google Ad Settings or opt out of certain participating companies’ interest-based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative’s opt-out tools.

We do not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals because no generally accepted standard governs how websites should respond to those signals. We may revise this practice if an applicable standard is established.
