All players are automatically entered into both team and individual competitions. Players must have an active USGA index as of the August 1 GHIN revision.
The maximum handicap is 18 for the event. If your index is higher than 18, we still encourage you to play. However, your event handicap will be 18.
Team Competition
Friday & Saturday
Field: 52 three-man teams. There will be two flights of 25 teams. Flight placement will be based on your total team handicap.
Format: 36-hole competition—1 gross and 1 net ball on each hole. Teams will have a professional paired with them each round and can use the professional’s score as either gross or net on each hole. Using the pro’s score is not mandatory.
Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers in each flight. Gift certificates will be redeemable in the Pro Shop at the Country Club of Sioux Falls. Team winners will be announced and presented guitar trophies on stage during the Saturday night concert.
Individual Competition
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday
Field: All 150 amateurs will be playing an individual competition that runs concurrent with the team competition.
Format: Individual stroke play. Players will be pre-flighted based on their event handicap. Championship flight will be gross, all other flights will be net. Competition within the flights is a 36 hole event. Flight winners and prizes will be awarded after play on Saturday. The Overall Gross and Overall Net competitions are 54 holes. The top Overall Gross and Overall Net players after Saturday will make the cut to Sunday. Winners of the Overall Gross and Overall Net competitions will be recognized with official Pro Am Jam Guitars. All players are automatically entered into the individual competitions as part of the tournament entry.
Saturday cut: There will be a cut at the conclusion of play on Saturday. The flight competitions will be complete and those making the cut to Sunday will be playing for Overall Gross and Overall Net Prizes. The official number of amateur players making the cut is still TBD and will be announced well before the start of the tournament.
Sunday final round: We are planning to play the Amateur and Pro Final Rounds concurrently again this year. Tee Times will be off #1 & #10 with the start time being 9am, giving people the opportunity to rest up from Saturday night. The amateurs will tee off #1 & #10 at the beginning of the wave and the pros will follow. Amateurs will finish in time to watch the pro's play a good portion of the back nine.
Prizes: Overall Gross and Overall Net winners will receive the official Pro Am Jam Guitar Trophies. Top finishers in each flight and top finishers in the overall gross and net competitions will receive gift certificates redeemable in the golf shop at The Country Club of Sioux Falls.
