President and Chief Lending Officer

Dave Kroll is President and Chief Lending Officer at First Dakota National Bank and is a member of the Bank’s Board of Directors. Dave joined the First Dakota in 2007 as a Business Banking Officer. Dave was promoted to VP/Business Banking Officer in 2011, to SVP/Business Banking Officer in 2014 and to Chief Lending Officer and a member of Executive Management in 2021. As Chief Lending Officer, he is responsible for overseeing the Business Banking loan portfolio, processes, policies and approvals. In January 2026, he was named President of First Dakota. In this role, Dave provides strategic leadership while building and growing First Dakota’s culture.  

Dave started his banking career after graduating from Augustana University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He spent his first few years with another community bank working in all facets of frontline work including being a teller, personal banker and branch manager before settling into commercial lending. Dave graduated from the Graduate School of Banking of Colorado in 2011 and was part of the inaugural Leadership South Dakota class of 2014-15. Dave is active in the Sioux Falls community, having previously served on the boards of Downtown Sioux Falls and the South Eastern Development Foundation. He has also been active with fundraising endeavors, including many Sioux Falls Chamber Community Appeals Campaigns.
