Rob Ness

Rob Ness joined First Dakota National Bank in 2007 and is currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), a position he has held since 2017. Rob is involved in a number of areas at First Dakota including oversight of the Accounting department, Wealth & Trust division, and Investment Services division (Raymond James). Rob also leads the Asset/Liability Committee (ALCO). He helps provide management of the bank’s balance sheet and also manages the bank’s bond portfolio. He is a member of the Executive Management team and the Corporate Officer group, which assist in the management of the Bank. He earned a Management degree, with a Finance emphasis, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of South Dakota. Rob was previously employed as a Bank Examiner for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and spent time examining national banks in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, and Illinois.

Rob has been involved with a number of organizations in the Yankton community and State of South Dakota as the organization president or board member, including the board of the Boys & Girls Club of the Northern Plains, Boys & Girls Club Yankton Advisory Council, CASA Board, Yankton Area Foundation Board, Big Friend Little Friend Board and mentor, Yankton Chamber of Commerce, University of South Dakota Finance Advisory board, Hillcrest Country Club board, and the Yankton Howling Pack (USD) Committee.
